
Atlanta Bread, the company behind a $1.2 billion investment in a bread manufacturing facility, will open a store in the Atlanta area.
The Atlanta-based company is owned by former General Mills chairman Richard Pyle.
The company will operate out of a two-story brick and mortar space at 1123 North Fourth Street.
It will include a bakery, a full-service coffee shop and a wine bar.
The Georgia State Fairgrounds is a stop on the tour.
“We’re thrilled to welcome the Atlanta Bakers to our growing family,” said Pyle, who was the former CEO of General Mills.
“Georgia is a state with a rich history of artisanal breads and we are excited to welcome them to the region.”
Atlanta Bread is a division of Atlanta Bread Group, which owns the Atlanta-area franchise of General Foods.
It employs around 100 people.
Atlanta Bakeshop Atlanta has been growing its business in the city, with sales exceeding $1 billion in fiscal 2018.
Its business is focused on premium baked goods, but also offers baking and catering services.
Its bakery in the Northside neighborhood of Atlanta will be the company’s first.
